The Document Viewer in the NCZ Portal gives you access to all the formal documents associated with your certifications and data submissions. This includes your verified carbon footprint reports, official NCZ certificates, and media packs containing logos and imagery to promote your certification status. You can view documents directly in your browser or download them for offline use and distribution.

What the Document Viewer is

The Document Viewer is a built-in file viewer in the NCZ Portal that opens documents without requiring you to download them first. It renders PDF files in an in-browser frame and displays image files inline, so you can review a report or certificate immediately. For file formats that cannot be previewed, the viewer provides a download button as a fallback.

Document types available

Your portal account may contain several types of documents depending on your certification level and programme:
Your annual verified carbon footprint report, produced by NCZ once your data collection is complete and validated. The report details your Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions broken down by source and location, with targeted reduction recommendations. Gold and Platinum reports are produced to ISO 14064 compliance standards.
Documents are attached to specific certification records. To find a document from a particular certification year or programme level, navigate to that certification first and open the documents section from there.

Accessing your documents

Documents are accessible through two routes in the portal: From a certification:
1

Navigate to Certifications

Select Certifications from the left-hand navigation menu.
2

Open the certification

Select the certification record that contains the document you want. Each certification shows its programme, year, and status.
3

Scroll to the Documents section

Within the certification detail view, scroll down to the Documents section. All documents attached to that certification are listed by title.
4

Open the Document Viewer

Click View next to the document. The Document Viewer opens and loads the file.
From the Document Viewer directly: If you have a direct link to a document (for example, from a notification or a shared link within the portal), the Document Viewer page opens automatically and loads the file by its document ID.

Viewing documents

When you open a document in the Document Viewer:
  • PDF files open in a full-page browser frame. You can scroll through pages, zoom in, and use your browser’s built-in PDF controls.
  • Image files are displayed centred on the page, scaled to fit the viewer while maintaining the original aspect ratio.
  • Other file formats that cannot be previewed show a message with a download button so you can access the file on your device.
A loading indicator appears while the file is being fetched. If the document fails to load — for example, due to a temporary network issue — the viewer shows an error message with a button to go back.

Downloading documents

You can download any document directly from the Document Viewer.
1

Open the document

Follow the steps above to open the document in the Document Viewer.
2

Click Download

Select the Download button in the viewer header. The file saves to your device using its original file name.
To share your certificate or media pack with a designer or marketing team, download the file from the Document Viewer and send it directly. Media pack files are provided in formats suitable for both print and digital use.
Use the back arrow button in the Document Viewer header to return to the page you came from, such as the certification detail view.
